Chocolate Jesus
Monday, April 2nd, 2007So people are up in arms over the chocolate Jesus that has been pulled out of an exhibition in the US thanks to the hotel running it responding to presure from the Christian persecution army, led by Bill Donohue . Donohue came across as a petulant fool during an interview on CNN recently. For a religion that displays some disgusting imagery in front of children it’s a bit much to sulk when someone produces the same thing and, oops, shows him having a penis like a man. I can only imagine that this is anatomically incorrect and that in their way of thinking, he wasn’t a man after all. More god than man, maybe. Anyway, this childishness on the part of a certain segment of Christian society (making them no better than the Muslims who sulked about the cartoons) did make me come across this set of lyrics from a chap called Tom Waits.
Well it’s got to be a chocolate Jesus
Make me feel good inside
Got to be a chocolate Jesus
Keep me satisfied.
I’ll let you track down the rest.
