I’ve had a similar thing happen to myself today. Although I am in debt, I’ve been in a debt management programme for the last 12 months to help get me back on track. However I received a phone call from my sister this morning after she received a letter from ‘the telegraph office’ asking did I live at her address as they have tried to contact me at my address and have had no reply etc. Today was the first time I have ever heard of this company. I’ve had no letters, phone calls, visits, nothing from them at all. Can someone please explain to me what on earth is going on as my family are furious about it. Me and my sister do not speak so as you can imagine this is causing a lot of drama within the family. I’m totally confused and have no idea of what to do. Can somebody please shine some light on this horrid situation. It would be much appreciated.

unbelievable just googled that same number that they obviously now need to change. Didn’t fool me when my neighbour came round saying someone with mail had contacted them asking whther I lived at the home address in question. I took the details called them up and then they tried asking me for my date of birth and saying it was a letter that they had for me! No thanks keep it seeing as i had been sending all the other ones straight back to them return to sender not at this address. Good old google and the guy that put this on here I would still be wondering what that letter was! anyway Capquest no point buying other peoples debts off companies cheap so you can collect them.
Sneaky moves wont get you anywhere.

Just came back from holiday to get verbal from my neighbours about my ex. He moved out over a year ago and im still taking crap from his past dealings. he has left me with 2 children and a mortgage and to top all this im hearing from my neighbours, that they know about his past and tarnish me with it.
I get letters daily for him and i return them to sender no longer here. I get people knocking my door and now my neighbours doors for him where will this stop.
I am now going to seek legal advice to see where i stand about these nusicence companies.
If they were genuine people they would know their facts and not contact people around that property as this, i here is illegal. Hassel the right people and not those who are trying to rebuild their lives.
I suggest that anyone who sends into this site should all get legal advice and get these so called companies expelled.

Just few days ago had same thing, asked for my address and name and I said whose calling and couldnt exactly hear what company they said they were, but was asking if I knew neighbours who lived across road to me and that they are trying to send them a parcel, I said so send it, nothing to do me with me but they wanted me to put a note thru their door asking for them to contact them I said no – send them a letter and I put the phone down. Ive had over the past year few of these calls and know they are not up to any good.
Googled the number and came up with this site.
Strange that if they are debt collecting agency why dont they use baliffs or other means of getting their money, not just to ring up people who are in the directory and happen to live in same road.

This company called my mother looking for me telling her I had a telegram waiting. They had some previous addresses and so my mother thought that they must be legit. my mother is 85 years old and knows nothing about internet, telemarketers and associated scams and gave them all my information. When she told me I assumed that this ust be a phishing scam so I’m a little confused to discover that they are debt collectors. Having read prevuous milings on this site I know that I should just put this phone down if they call.

Glad i found this! same thing here-they have called twice now asing about someone over the road from me-what do they expect you to do? Do their dirty work for them??, suggested they called the house they wanted not me! oh, we are on the TPS system too-doesn’t seem to deter any of these idiot companies!

An opt out of future donations? I don’t understand… surely an organ donation opt out is by definition “future”,given that you can only opt out of it happening at one point in your life?

The auto donate scheme isn’t pointless if a reasonable number of current donations are not happening because the prospective donor hasn’t opted in, and yet the family would not veto. Doctors seem to think that this would increase the rate of donations, and given that it’s a scheme we few down sides, even one or two more lives saved would surely be worthwhile?

Given that, I’m also largely in favour of removing the next of kin veto.

Maybe the register of opting out should also be an opt out of future donations as well. Just an idea.

In any case, I don’t see how useful this law will be either way. The only people organ donation can be taken from are people who have suffered some head trauma or the like and have been declared clinically brain dead (legally equivalent to dead). Life support can keep the body alive for a very long time after this. I’m sure in the vast majority of cases, by that time, next of kin have been informed. Since they also have veto on donations, the autodonate scheme seems a little pointless. That said, the few cases where they can’t be found would result in a few more people having another lease at life, so I suppose it is worth it.

Just had a Scotsman on the phone trying to find information about a person who may live a few doors down from me! Googled the number (0125276480) and found your posting.
Where are they getting names and numbers from?
Don’t seem very professional to me.

I have just received a call from my neighbours who have recieved a call from this company asking for someone who used to live at my address. First name is the same but last name is different. I contatced the number and was basically called a liar by the company they did not believe i was not the person they had asked for. My neighbours are well into the 80′s and i was absolutly furious that this company had contacted them and then did not believe that i was not who i said i was.
